Danielle did such a great job implementing the found objects into her pieces. Combining the historic photography with these beautiful hand laid patterns make for visually interesting pieces. Everything about the pieces look historic. As if they were carefully transported from the times they were made to our current day.
The combination of found objects with mixed media makes for historic looking pieces. I truly appreciate the use of these vibrant patterns to elevate the persons in the photograph.
Danielle was able to make every single of these pieces pop with the addition of objects and paper patterns.
I see themes of royalty and confidence. Normally when the subjects are depicted it’s usually a sad theme of powerlessness and pain. In this case Danielle gave the subjects power by dressing them in royal garbs. Beautiful clothes that are bright and beautiful just like the souls of every human. Ever if at the time they weren’t deemed as humans worthy of freedom and respect Danielle gave them back their birth given right by creating a setting and placing them in it.
