Sam Dameshek
My goal with photography is to create editorial/ campaigns work for magazines, clothing, or other brands. Sam Dameshek is a major influence to why I want to pursue this career. I really enjoy how Sam is able to take amazing portraits. His subject always looks comfortable, his color grading is amazing, and his overall composition is something else. Besides all technical aspects of Sam’s work, he is just an overall beast. Sam and I are almost the same age, and he accomplished so much at just 23. I’ve learned a lot through this guy.
Andy Warhol
A second inspiration of mine is the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Andy Warhol himself. To be specific, I’m a big fan of his polaroids. I even purchased the same polaroid he used, “The Big Shot.” Warhol’s polaroids are pretty simple, straightforward, and funny. I use polaroids in both my work and my personal stuff. I like the instant gratification feeling I get when shooting polaroids. I also like the colors of Fujifilm Instax wide.
William Eggelston
William Eggleston is one of my favorite photographers. His work consists of photos of what he would see when going out. My favorite part of Eggleston's work is his color tones. I’ve tried to recreate it on my own, but I just can’t land it. I see William Eggleston's work as the perfect example of “work with what you have.”
