This body of work is representational of where I want to be as an artist. I’m an artist that leans heavily on the tangible objects and strive to create professional objects of adornment. While I studied photography I picked up new interest that have formed into new ways of expression. I believe they each hold hands in what I truly want from an artistically inclined career. Professionalism and uniqueness are what I chase in my work. I wish to extract the soul of what I find to be tasteful and inject it into my work. Simplicity and elegance with a dash of financial flair.
Peeling back the layers of how each medium holds hands we can look at the Don Perignon x Lady Gaga promo as an example. The group of performers all hold each other to form a unique freeform shape. Combining photography with this human sculpture we get a new object to view. We get something new to explore when you begin to combine these mediums. I want to get something new out of the ways I work. I thought photography had so much to offer until I realized that a good photograph only exist from a unique subject. Thats where the outstanding photographs are born from. A good story and an interesting subject.
I want to explore the idea of creating my own subjects and telling the story of myself through it. I want to enable my creativity through the use of something commonly seen as vapid extravagance and change the perception of what luxury can offer to a person. Creativity can be viewed as a pass time for those who have too much time on their hands but for me its a way to unpack myself. I'm not very vocal but through these solid objects can speak at a higher volume than my vocal cords could ever produce.
