My mission is to create a series of projects that take place at different points in time but have each story connected whether on a small or large-scale. It would bounce from one generation and another, from one character’s actions to another character facing the consequences of those actions. There are overarching themes of identity or lack thereof, the idea of the self as perceived (and, in the case of Diary of Heather Grey, as defined) by those around you; topics of relationships of varying natures, be it romantic or platonic, co-dependent or one-sided (in the case of Lessons in Coping), or simply learning to trust again after being hurt by someone previously. I like to think about the nuances of things, and I also like to write about them under varying lenses (horror, drama, day-in-a-life sort of settings.) While previous research was more character-first than world-building-first, the amount of time over the last few years looking into various things - such as bees and wasps to create an entire demon species based off them, various bases of witchcraft and practices to establish character backgrounds, saving fashion images and looking for the requirements in becoming one (example: the minimum height to qualify is usually 5’8”-5’9”) because of one of the central characters growing up in that business, and general research into different mythologies and folklore in the world- is insurmountable. By the end of the summer, I hope to have at least one project complete, be it the game demo Diary of Heather Grey, or the short story collection Lessons in Coping.

“Journey” 2022 by Kassandra Brown

Song of the Sea (2014)

I have many things I have planned, many different mini series I want to illustrate.

3,424. The number of miles from my American home in New Jersey to my motherland in Belize. It started with a phone call on Christmas Eve in 2019, informing us of the unfortunate news of my half brother’s passing. With a total of 10 people, consisting of women and children, hastily packed their bags and leave on a journey wearing their Christmas reindeer onesies, a fun family tradition they enjoy, now used as gear to protect their fragile spirit.

A biography illustrated in either color or webtoon format. Using  a more watercolor, dreamy style, to illustrate the mind of the viewer melting from reality to magical imagination.

Well, This. Is it? My progress for my development of my own Journey to decide what to don my own project that leads to other Commissions. My skills that makes art are Drawing videos making videos editing recording and possibly.

Over the summer I would make a series of a during the process, Of creating a art and videos and also new projects possibly new ideas. Go having lead up to the bfa one day. It will involve is photoshop, premiere pro, frame by frame animations, Voice acting, A lot of photo references Possibly actors, And a whole lot of dialogues dialogues , because because my mean focuses making a comic dub And a little bit of animation as well.

A comic dub is a one of a type of videos that involves, Voice acting. 1 of people's original comic, video games manga, or even something from a Existing franchise That we're not. What's the same going on while a picture motion and also a bit of animation even fully. The plot of the project we'll be about myself doing the project like a reenactment of what's the plot of the story like? What's going on and trying to think of an idea to think? What's a good project of the story but it's just a loophole.

As a result this will be one of the starts of a new start of my journey. Item ideas that will overflow over time but regardless need to stay motivated Until it's complete.

_________________________________________________________________

I do not consider myself as an artist, but rather as a growing pond inhabited by amphibians called "experiences." What I strive for in my work is to have a better understanding of my relationship with the numerous oceans of the world; The oceans that built empires who's intelligence helped them create monoliths from simple stone; The oceans who prepare baby birds to leave the nest and fly into tomorrow. My journey as a student in the world of art has nevertheless been long standing, but it is only recently that I have grown ripe with fruit. The pursuits I chase today would have never been a fleeting thought in my past had it not been for the abruption of these ocean waves crashing against my core beliefs. Now wet with experience, making art grew from its mere show-hobby past times into my prioritized form of re-action; whether it be fine art, or digital design. Transforming what had been given to me, I give back by being an urban sketch artist.

This year's goal was to start developing a purpose outside of making art out of necessity and to do so for my own enrichment. History has always intrigued me and I and wanted to pursue a new history-based project using my skills as a fine artist. I took up the street art genre of urban sketching with the intent of learning more about the historical contexts of areas, buildings, and locations that I found interesting. But soon I found myself making work that imitated my idols but felt void of any real emotion. However, it did bring an audience and due to brief moments of artist exposure, I had quickly fallen into a trap of running a marathon i didn't truly sign up for. Slowly, I questioned why I even donned running shoes to begin with and lost touch sight of my original challenge which was to escape the toil of using art to survive. It was only then that I threw in the towel and turned to my father for advice. Following in his footsteps as a Journalist, I accompanied him to protests, public events, and news gatherings with the mindset of rekindling my art roots. It was then that photography became a key form of expression for me as it reminded me of the importance of forming bonds, making stories and sharing experiences. As a kid, my dad used to get me comic books of my favorite superheroes. I always dreamed of making my own someday to give back to the artists and media that made my childhood. Free from feelings of inadequacy and rejuvenated with a passion to create something from my heart, I choose my summer project this year to learn the basics of comic production and make a traditionally hand-drawn comic book or short graphic novel. My research spans across America and Japan as I learn about the techniques used to illustrate sequential art and how to do it the old fashioned way!
